Things I learned during Week 2 of the Digital Deepak Internship Program

Digital marketing is one of the booming industry nowadays and most people are trying their hand in so that they can become freelancers/ affiliate marketers and can make their career in the field.

One of the best internship programs which I have come crossed is the Digital Deepak internship where we have learned about marketing and its basic concepts but do we know enough to explain it simply?

Philip Kotler an American marketing author, consultant, and professor has defined the term Marketing very nicely

Marketing is the science and art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target market at a profit.

Now let's go deep into the marketing fundamentals to understand it better:-

1- How to choose your right niche

Choosing the right niche/market space to compete in is really important. He picturizes the perfect niche as being a healthy mixture of 3 components: Passion, Market, and Talent.

Keep in mind that a great starting point when considering whether or not a particular topic you’re interested in could be considered a smart niche to start about is whether or not other people share that interest with you. If there’s a sizable audience already seeking answers on a particular subject matter, then you’ve got the makings of a great (possible) blog niche.

2- Integrated Marketing -

Integrated digital marketing encompasses the idea of creating a unique form of expression that is unique to us and easy to identify in all of the channels that our customer uses. It requires us to have a well-structured plan. The channels that we need to unify for the best integrated digital marketing results are organic (blogs, video, website), paid advertisement, social media and they should be able to seamlessly send visitors from one channel to another. Having a well-thought-out and structured marketing plan can benefit in many ways like having increased brand awareness and loyalty, higher ROI, and better conversions.

3- CATT Marketing Funnel -

This is the technique/funnel we can use to achieve our goals.

CATT  stands for Content, Attention, Trust & Transaction. When you have good quality contents which help in solving user’s problem, then you get more attention from users and they will give us the opportunity to build trust. This trust will convince you to make a transaction with me. When I sell something, you will pay attention to me because you trust me.

   Wealth= n^ CATT

Where ^ denotes power. Where your niche (n) will be successful and powerful with the CATT that you will apply

How to create your personal brand?

Personal branding is equally important for your business. It helps you to be an individual with unique skills and experiences that make you who you are.

Personal branding will help you to become different from your competitors and will help you to build trust with your customers.

To summarize the above, the product is more important than marketing itself, which is nothing but products or services that you offer to the target audience. Understand the customer and provide solutions accordingly. Understand what type of marketing fits your services.

How you can integrate different marketing channels to achieve your goals. Build your personal brand to build trust and good relationships with people.

Target the right audience and create awareness about the products or services that you offer.

As a beginner, you can start with content writing. Understand your niche, before you start creating the content. Once you understand your niche, write in a conversation where the audience can connect with you and build trust with you.
Publish the content on your blog/website. Share the content online on social media platforms which are good to start at the initial stage since everyone is on social media these days. Then you can try jobs, freelancing, consultancy, mentoring, and even have your own startup.
Focus on content writing than the marketing fundamentals which are mentioned above. It is because people consume content online first before making any decision.

Hope you had a great insight into marketing and how to apply them in your life.
